Only 15 minutes walk from Mordoğan is the ever popular Blue Flag Duma Beach which offers full facilities and safe bathing for a family day out. The beach café/music bar is popular daytime meeting place and provides cooling shade from the hot sun whilst the Purple Beach bar restaurant comes to life in the evenings offering excellent food, good music and reasonable prices for a great atmosphere to please both teens and adults alike.
Further afield the peninsula offers rugged mountain scenery, upland valleys and along the coast a sprinkling of fishing villages to explore. This part of the Aegean coast overlooks the Gulf of Izmir and its clear water is ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving (courses are available) with wind surfing becoming increasingly popular. Shore and boat fishing produce good specimens for the barbecue and if you would like some excitement then try night fishing for barracuda from Karaburun. Significantly, there is no package tourism to this area and this is obvious by the relaxed and pleasant atmosphere of people enjoying themselves without disturbing others.
