The journey time is 1hour 20mins in Summer on good roads so airport access is not a problem. The beach has all facilities including sunshades and sunbeds and the water is clean and safe for children. There are beachside cafés and good restaurants with music and there is a cosmopolitan air due to the summer influx of German and French visitors. The peninsula is unspoilt and largely unaffected by tourism with no package holidays to this area. The small mountain and fishing villages are worthy of exploration and the rugged mountains attract walkers (Karaburun, easily reached by regular buses, is a popular trekking centre).
