There are several cafes and restaurants along the lower harbour area which is very popular during the summer evenings. For transport you do not need a car as there are regular buses to Izmir all year round with local taxis available anytime.
In the summer there are cooling breezes which are not found in the Mediterranean Sea area and this makes the climate more comfortable for people who are used to somewhat colder summers. This is most noticeable at night when it is possible to sleep comfortably.
