Mordogan is 1hr 20mins from Izmir airport on the Karaburun Peninsula and is perfect for holiday or all year living. The restaurants, cafes and shops are on the doorstep and there is an English speaking chemist and local doctor. There is a large weekly market with fresh organic produce and everything for the kitchen and home. As an alternative to the harbour the family friendly Blue Flag Duma Beach is perhaps half a mile away and is perfect for a day out with excellent café/restaurants and all amenities.
The peninsula has little fishing villages, highland valleys and mountain villages which are all worth exploring. Walking is popular with visitors and Karaburun is a trekking centre with organised walks available. Animal life is plentiful and includes eagles, foxes and wild boar which can often be seen along the coastal road on quiet summer evenings.
