Beach umbrellas and sunbeds are available for hire and there are shaded cafés for a snack or lunch. In the evening there is good music and beach side restaurants for excellent food until late in a friendly cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Mordogan, a pleasant walk via Duma Beach or just a few minutes on the regular buses, has shops to supply most needs and there is a bank with international cash machine, post office, English speaking chemist and doctor as well as two supermarkets which makes shopping easy. The harbour area has café bars and restaurants and is popular with German and French visitors in summer, most of whom have their own properties here. Overall the peninsula is unspoilt by package tourism and provides its own delights for those prepared to explore. The mountains of the interior are quite rugged and rise to over 4,000 feet. Karaburun, towards the head of the peninsula is a trekking centre. Water sports including scuba diving and wind surfing are catered for and fishing from both shore and boat is popular.
The climate is typically Mediterranean but with the advantage of a cooling breeze in the afternoons which makes the summer heat more comfortable.
Having a car is an advantage but the regular bus service every ½ hour means that travel along the coast is easy.
