Mordogan is an attractive fishing and administration centre on the Karaburun Peninsula 50 miles from Izmir Airport and the city. This area is largely unspoilt by tourism (there are no package holidays here). Most visitors are German, French or Dutch who have holiday homes here and so summer evenings are quite cosmopolitan in the pleasant café bars and restaurants. On the other side of Mordogan the Blue Flag Duma Beach has all facilities for the family with clear water for swimming and a good sand beach. Further along the peninsula is dotted with little fishing villages and the central highland area (rising to 4,000 feet) is excellent for walking, with upland valleys, small old villages and wonderful views to explore.
Overall this is an excellent property in the quiet part of town at a good price. The blue waters of the Gulf of Izmir and the rugged mountain backdrop give this area a special beauty which delights visitors however often they visit.
