There are several cafes and fish restaurants along the lower harbour area, which is popular on summer evenings. Regarding transport you do not need a car, as there are regular buses to Izmir all year round and local taxis available anytime.
In the summertime, there are cooling breezes, which are not found in the Mediterranean Sea area and this makes the climate more comfortable for people who are used to somewhat colder summers.
This is most noticeable at night which whilst warm it is possible to sleep without needing air conditioning.
