Bodrum itself is one of the most sophisticated resorts on The Turkish Riviera. Originally a small fishing town,the town has spread out from its historical centre but still retains its atmosphere and a long seafront promenade.
Most investors buy in the towns and villages along the Bodrum peninsula.
Places such as Bitez, Gumusluk and Yalikavak.
You can still pick up a resale villa here from around £40,000 but anything in this price bracket will probably need around £10,000 spending on it to bring it up to scratch. Most properties in this price bracket were built 7-10 years ago, quite often without things like dampproof courses, so make sure when you look at property in this area that you have a structural survey done.
New properties of course, do not suffer from these problems and apartments start from around £45,000 with villas from £65,000.
Close to Bodrum airport, fantastic beaches and historical sites make Bodrum an excellent area for holiday rental income and good capital gains. | | |
